The Interview

Why Photography?
Photography is a technique of communication. The image is the most complete technique of all communication. I’m here to create, communicate and serve. Photography provides me the opportunities and tools to accomplish this. It allows me to communicate and encourage others to view this world around them from different perspectives.

How long have you been shooting?
I started seeing the world professionally through the lens in ’81. However, I have been shooting since the mid ‘70s.

What type of work do you enjoy?
As the saying goes, “location, location, location.” I enjoy the challenges of the outside world along with the beauty and perfection it provides me. Shooting location has also exposed me to areas of life that most people will never see and allow me to communicate these aspects of life to others.

For instance?
The inside of a coal mine 800 ft. into the Earth, different manufacturing processes, seeing Mother Nature from the open door of a helicopter. Most individuals will never experience these areas except in photographs. The camera has been my key to doors, which normally are closed to others.

How do you best serve your clients?
Through my perspective and ability to communicate my clients’ thoughts through the lens. For some it is difficult to convey their ideas from mind to matter. Through my research and understanding of my clients’ needs, I create their vision clearly.
